The Academic Program is available to children in kindergarten through eighth grade. New York State certified teachers with diverse backgrounds offer instruction in reading, mathematics, and the development of writing skills. Computers are used to support these skill areas as well as learning specific computer skills. With information supplied by the parents and the child's home school, the staff develops individual programs to meet each child's needs.
Campers attend Academics Monday through Thursday for one hour per day. Children in General Camp attend during the camp day, while sessions for those in Sports Camp take place before the camp day begins (8:45AM-9:45AM). The instruction ratio is one-on-one or two-on-one, depending on the schedule.
This program allows students to expand their critical thinking skills, perform problem solving activities, and promote and develop higher level thinking. It's a wonderful opportunity for students to review and enrich skills from the previous academic year as well as introduce concepts to be learned in the upcoming academic year.
Our Philosophy: The Academic Program philosophy is to make learning fun by providing interesting, challenging and creative activities which stimulate and motivate students. Supportive teachers will help students gain greater confidence and self-esteem.
Our teachers look forward to working with your children!
