Our CIT program allows each person to develop leadership skills, discover and build life skills and offer the opportunity to work with children in a camp environment. The CIT program is designed for a group of youth ages 14-15 years of age and coming from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Some qualifications we look for when selecting CIT's are emotional maturity, leadership potential, and motivation for training. You must be available for a minimum of 4 weeks. Due to the strong interest in this program, positions are limited. We offer Junior and Senior CIT positions based on your age and experience. Our goal here at Friends Academy is to provide you with the proper knowledge, confidence and compassion towards others so that you may return as a full-time paid counselor. Being a CIT involves making a genuine commitment to training, growing and taking on new responsibilities. Many of our CITs become future staff members because of their experiences and training with our campers and learn valuable lessons of responsibility and compassion for others . Campers will see you as a role model, and our CITs are expected to uphold this reputation throughout the summer.
