Camp Director - Rich Mack Rich Mack has been a part of Friends Academy Summer Camps for over two decades. He holds a M.Ed. in School Administration and was a fifth grade teacher at Friends Academy for 11 years. As an elementary school teacher, a high school and college coach, Rich continues to learn and share his knowledge and experiences of what it means to be great teacher, a great coach, and a positive role model. Rich truly understands the tremendous impact a teacher, a coach and a camp counselor has on each individual as they learn specific skills related to their interests. He utilizes his background in education, athletics, and summer camps, in order to provide quality programs that provide a holistic approach to teaching. "As a teacher and coach of students of all ages, the opportunity of making a difference in someone's life is one of the most rewarding parts of my position. It’s a role that our staff takes pride in each day." Our Staff The success of our program depends upon the guidance of an experienced staff. It begins with a caring and patient office staff that is on call year round. They are always eager to assist with any questions, as well as with placement and registration of your child. During the summer months, mature, capable teachers and coaches plan, supervise and work directly with the campers on a daily basis. Enthusiastic college students guide your children as counselors and assistant coaches. Registered nurses and Nassau County certified lifeguards round out our wonderful support staff.
