The General Camp enrolls boys

of activities including the arts

youngest campers (ages 3-5), teaching
them games that stress hand-eye
coordination. Our Intermediate
campers are offered instruction in
such sports as:
|
| Volleyball |
    |
Baseball |
    |
Basketball |
| Floor Hockey |
    |
Lacrosse |
    |
Softball |
| Soccer |
    |
Tennis |
    |
Flag Football |
Arts & Crafts activities include woodworking, ceramics, painting, jewelry making, and other original projects. Campers enjoy a music program that includes a stage production, while the older campers work on their tennis skills. Our Intermediate campers experience a hands-on Exploration program with fun science experiments that change each summer. Campers in the General Program swim twice a day and receive instruction from our Red Cross certified staff. The General Camp has sessions that are four, six or eight weeks.
Groupings
The General Camp is made up of two divisions: Junior and Intermediate camp program. Each division is supervised by a Division Head who is an adult with years of experience in education. A Group Leader and a Senior and Junior Counselor supervise each individual group. Many of the groups also have a Counselor in training, (CIT) who works with the other counselors and the CIT Coordinator in preparing them for a future counselor position.
Camper/Staff Ratios
Juniors include ages three through five, with a 4:1 camper to staff ratio. Intermediates include ages six through seven, with a 5:1 camper to staff ratio.
Mini Day
Parents whose children are 2 to 5 years old may register for either a full day or the mini day which ends at 1:30 p.m. Mini Day campers board regular transportation in the morning and are picked up by a parent in the afternoon.
Special Events
Carnival Day, Field Day, Water Day, Theme days, as well as performances and appearances by professional entertainers are just a few examples of special events that take place throughout the summer. Campers and staff also learn about community service as they get involved in raising awareness and in working together for a common cause. Finally, all our campers enjoy barbecues held on four Fridays during the season.
